DIY Trash deodorizers

DIY Trash deodorizers

Defeats even those stinky baby diapers!

These DIY trash deodorizers have been on my radar for a long time, but it’s taken me WAY to long to finarlly get around to trying them. Seriously, baby diapers stink. My trash has a lid and if it’s even the tiniest bit cracked the smell wafts out all over the house, EJ has some powerful poops. I’ve tried a lot of solutions, including sticking the poopie diapers in a plastic bag first, using garbage bags that are scented, changing the garbage as much as possible.

I live so rurally that in order to get rid of trash I actually have to drive it to the closest landfill. There’s only so much I can fit in my car, and there’s only so much storage I have for old garbage so I try not to change my garbage until it’s full. This being the case, I am just not willing to succumb to the stinky diapers overruling my house.

So finally I made these DIY trash deodorizers and tested them out against the worst my son had to offer, and they worked! Not only did they work, but they are so stupidly easy to make in less then two minutes. 3 ingredients that I know you definitely have, I can’t get over how easy they are to make. I could repeat myself a million times, because anything that takes me less then two minutes to make and serves me this well, is my new favorite thing.

How to make these DIY Trash can deodorizers

2 cups baking soda

6 tablespoons water

Your favorite essential oils

Mix it all together in a bowl, you’ll end up with a kind of paste. Spoon it into your molds, then let dry for a day. Seriously, that’s it. Once it’s dry, pop it into the bottom of your trash can, swap out when it stops smelling fantastic.

How easy is that? It even took me less then two minutes to write. It costs so little, it’s so fast, and it saves my sanity from smelling poop all the time. I was at the point where I was pretty sure I was doomed to never smell anything else but EJ’s poops. It was not a bright horizon.
